Why did my nick get changed?
You were guested. This happens when someone (possibly
you) owns the nick you were trying to use.
If the nick you were using has the 'NickName Enforce'
flag on, and you don't give NickServ the password for the nick, it will change
your nick to 'Guest#####'.
If you didn't register the nick you were using, sorry,
someone else owns it.
If you did register it, you have to give NickServ the password so it
will recognize you.
But, I forgot my password!
Well, don't panic. Just type '/JOIN
#Operhelp' and ask for someone to retrieve your password. If no one
answers, or no one there can, try '/MOTD services.*'
and see if any of the nicks at the bottom are in bold. OR, you can
contact admin@jetIRC.net
to request that we send you your password.
If you did not set an email when you registered your
nick, you're out of luck. Wait 21 days, and it will expire, then you can
re-register it (if someone else doesn't beat you to it!). All password
retrievals are done via email. This means we email to you (or the address set
with NickServ) the password. We do not give out passwords over IRC.
