We are always grateful for donations of any amount.  There are a surprising number of expenses on a monthly and yearly basis that arise when running an IRC network.  The big boys subsidize their costs through advertising.  Since we have neither the volume to warrant it, nor the inclination, we have opted not to sell advertising on our network.

Some of our costs are:

• Annual fees for the domain name.  We can't go just anywhere to register, as we need a service that also allows for manual (and frequent) DNS updates directly.  If they don't have an easy online form for that, we can't use them;
• Monthly fees for web space and traffic;
• Fees for upgrades and licenses;
• Monthly fees for ISP access to supply additional servers.

What's left (from donations) goes toward the dedicated crew that keeps this place running, which includes website maintenance, research, and the thousands of hours put in to add new features etc etc etc.
